Junior Business Developer (German native)

Our business has been expanding rapidly over the last 5 years and we have a highly talented global team of over 150 people around the world.  In order to meet the changing needs of our business, we have created an exciting new role of Business Developer in Barcelona.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop an effective understanding of the capabilities, benefits and competitive advantages of Straker Translations services for global companies
  • Source new clients through referrals, cold calling, social media, email, meetings, networking, tradeshows and digital marketing
  • Proactively seek out and develop new business contacts and relationships to drive sales growth.
  • Take an active role in learning about each client’s industry, business needs and company culture, as well as their personal pain points and goals in order to identify new business opportunities and provide a high level of serviceCultivate long-term relationships with new and existing clients
  • Use your knowledge of  language services to engage with clients from different industries and backgrounds
  • Greet and handle customers in a professional and friendly manner exhibiting the highest level of customer service
  • Create and kick off projects in our Management Software and ensure satisfied customers
  • Prepare client facing quotations
  • Updating records from our database.
  • Run marketing campaigns – email, advertising, social, phone, digital marketing, report on results and return on investment.
  • Learn about the latest in sales and marketing technologies and identify areas for operational improvement

Required Skills

  • German native speaker
  • Excellent English communication (written and verbal) skills, other foreign languages desirable but not mandatory
  • Experience in the translation industry is an advantage
  • Proven sales track record
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Translation fields preferred
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a “can-do” attitude, responsible, works well under pressure
  • Experience selling over the phone and cold calling to businesses highly desired
  • Good analytical skills needed to project revenues, monitor budgets and other necessary calculations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail

Start date: Immediate (6 months contract). Option of permanent after this period.
Full-time, from 09.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday
